Ferries to Lesbos

The directory lists two ferry ports and 16 ferry routes for Lesbos. The cruising area is the Aegean. Most connections run through Mytilene and Sigri. From here, ferries sail to Türkiye. 32 connections run to other ports in Greece. Hellenic Seaways, Turyol, Blue Star Ferries and one other operator sail these routes.

Mytilene, the main port

Mytilene ferry port sits in the island's capital and is also one of the most important crossings to the Turkish coast. From here you can reach 20 destinations, among them Ayvalık, Chios and Agios Kirikos, plus Dikili and Aliaga in Turkey as well as Lemnos, Samos, Patmos and Kavala. Together the services add up to as many as 24 departures a day, and crossings take between 45 minutes and 13 hours. The port is served by Blue Star Ferries, Hellenic Seaways, Ido and Turyol.

The passenger port is right by the town centre: according to the port administration, the taxi rank and the bus stop are only ten metres from the terminal, and the airport is eight kilometres away. Three moles with 480 metres of quay between them take the large ferries from Piraeus as well, and the port operates around the clock all year. Parking at the passenger port is chargeable on the areas marked in blue, Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 21:00; areas marked in white are free, and so are the blue ones after 21:00 and on Sundays and public holidays.

For check-in, Blue Star Ferries and Hellenic Seaways both want an hour's lead time on the northern Aegean routes, on foot as well as with a vehicle. For the crossing to and from Ayvalık, Turyol also states at least one hour; on top of that comes passport control, which can take a while in high season.
