The ferry port of Macau lies in the Macau Special Administrative Region. From here you can reach Hong Kong and Shenzhen Airport. Together the routes add up to as many as 29 departures a day. The crossing takes around one hour. The port is served by Cotai Water Jet and TurboJet.
Getting there and the terminal
Macau has two ferry terminals, and they lie far apart. The Taipa terminal, in Portuguese Terminal Marítimo de Passageiros da Taipa, is on Estrada de Pac On on the island of Taipa and opened in 2017. It sits directly alongside Macau airport, and the Light Rapid Transit stops at the door with its Taipa Ferry Terminal station. Buses and taxis also stop in front of the building, and the big hotels and casinos on the Cotai Strip run free shuttle buses to the terminal. The historic centre on the Macau peninsula is around half an hour away from here.
Check which terminal is printed on your ticket before you travel: Cotai Water Jet only calls at Taipa in Macau, while TurboJET serves both the Outer Harbour on the peninsula and Taipa, and moved the Shenzhen airport service to Taipa on 15 June 2026.
Check-in
TurboJET asks you to be at the boarding point no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure so that staff can check your travel documents. Allow extra time for immigration and customs: the trip to Hong Kong or to mainland China means crossing a border, so a valid travel document is compulsory.
