Teso

TESO has run the ferry service between Texel and the mainland since 1907. The company was founded by the islanders themselves and is still owned today by around 3,100 residents of Texel and other users. As a non-profit organisation, TESO reinvests its income in safety, quality and continuity.
The ferry gets passengers from Den Helder to Texel in 20 minutes. Departures run hourly from 6:30 to 21:30 from Den Helder (one to two hours later on Sundays and public holidays). On busy days the ferry runs every 30 minutes, with an extra vessel put into service. There is capacity for 350 cars at a time.
The ticket is always a return ticket, so no separate ticket is needed for the trip from Texel to Den Helder. For pedestrians the return trip is inexpensive, with a small surcharge for a bicycle. The car crossing costs considerably more and is cheaper from Tuesday to Thursday, regardless of the number of occupants. The current prices for your travel date are shown in the booking window.
Reservations are not possible; you simply join the queue. The ferry terminal is at Havenplein 3, 1781 AB Den Helder, about an hour from Amsterdam. Bus line 33 connects Den Helder station with the ferry terminal.
