Aegean Flying Dolphins is a Greek ferry company based in Piraeus, founded in 2006. It offers fast hydrofoil connections to the islands of the Saronic Gulf and the Sporades.
Aegean Flying Dolphins runs year-round daily services from Piraeus to the islands of the Saronic Gulf, including Aegina, Poros, Agistri-Myloi and Methana. From Volos in Thessaly, it serves the Sporades islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos. Departures from Piraeus leave from Gate E8.
The fleet consists of three high-speed hydrofoils: F/D Erato, F/D Venus 1 and F/D Athina. All three were built in 1991 and reach speeds of 32 knots. At full speed the hydrofoils rise above the water's surface, considerably cutting journey times. Erato serves the Volos-Sporades route, while Venus 1 and Athina cover the connections from Piraeus.
Because of the hydrofoils' compact design, there is no catering or wide range of seating options onboard. The ships offer spacious seating. Children under 5 travel free, and children aged 5 to 10 get a 50 per cent discount. Vehicles cannot be carried on these ships.
