Ferries to Helsinki

Helsinki lies in southern Finland on the Gulf of Finland and has the largest freight and passenger port in the country. Ferries run from here to Estonia, Sweden, Åland and Germany, with several services a day to Tallinn and Stockholm in particular.

The port city of Vaasa lies on the Gulf of Bothnia and is linked by ferry with the Swedish town of Holmsund. Vaasa is a varied enough city to have something for every taste. The port city itself, founded in 1606 by the Swedish king Charles IX Vasa, is lively and urban and offers visitors first-class food in upmarket restaurants. If you want to enjoy the countryside around Vaasa, you can get in the saddle and ride varied cycle routes against the backdrop of the archipelago. It is not only Finnish culture that is present here, but Swedish culture too - about 25% of Vaasa's residents speak Swedish.

Vuosaari ferry port lies in the Vuosaari district in the east of Helsinki, the Finnish capital, and is Finland's leading freight port by value of goods. Ferries run from here to Muuga in Estonia several times a week, and there are also connections to Germany.
