Aran Island Ferries is an Irish shipping company based at the port of Rossaveel in Connemara, around 37 kilometres west of Galway city centre. From there, its ships sail year-round to the three Aran Islands of Inis Mór, Inis Meáin and Inis Oírr; the crossing to Inis Mór takes around 40 minutes.
In season, departures also run direct from Galway city, for which you should allow around 90 minutes. The ship Saoirse na Farraige has 392 seats, with tea, coffee, snacks and a bar onboard. Besides the island connections, the company also runs excursions from Galway to the Cliffs of Moher.
