Belize Express Water Taxi, also known as San Pedro Belize Express, was founded in Belize in 2008. The company started out with a single express connection between Belize City and San Pedro; today it runs a network linking the mainland with the outlying cayes, reaching as far as Chetumal in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo.
Its base is the Belize Marine Terminal on North Front Street in Belize City. The fleet comprises 14 boats, carrying between 45 and 120 passengers depending on the vessel, many fitted with onboard toilets and individual seating. Around 60 people work for the company. Crossings between Belize City, Caye Caulker and San Pedro take between half an hour and ninety minutes.
