Blue Star Ferries

Blue Star Ferries is Greece's largest ferry company, founded in 1965 as Strintzis Lines by the Strintzis family from Lixouri on Kefalonia. Following its acquisition by Attica Enterprises in 2000, the company was renamed Blue Star Ferries. It is now part of the Attica Group, alongside Hellenic Seaways and ANEK Superfast.

Blue Star Ferries connects the Greek mainland with more than 20 destinations in the Aegean. Its main routes run from Piraeus to the Cycladic islands of Paros, Naxos, Ios and Santorini, as well as to Syros, Tinos and Mykonos. Further connections serve the Dodecanese islands and Crete. The company's main agency is located at the port of Piraeus.

The fleet comprises 12 modern ferries with cruising speeds of 23 to 30 knots. The Blue Star Delos, built in 2010 at Daewoo Shipbuilding in South Korea, is 145 metres long and carries up to 2,400 passengers and 430 vehicles. It serves the Piraeus-Paros-Naxos-Ios-Santorini route. Its sister ship Blue Star Patmos joined the fleet in 2012. The Blue Star Naxos, built in 2002, holds 1,474 passengers and 240 vehicles.

Various accommodation options are available on board, from seats to comfortable cabins. The ships feature restaurants, cafeterias and lounges. Cars, motorhomes and motorcycles can be carried. In 2015 Blue Star Ferries took over the ship Lefka Ori from ANEK Lines and deployed it as Blue Galaxy on the Piraeus-Chania route.
