BlueWater Express pioneered the fast-boat connection from Bali to the Gili Islands in 2006, making it the longest-running operator in this sector. Founded in 2005 and British-run, the company specialises in high-speed boat transport and private charter trips.

BlueWater Express connects Bali with the Gili Islands, Lombok and Nusa Penida. Its speedboats depart from the ports of Serangan and Padang Bai in Bali, serving Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Bangsal on Lombok as main destinations. The route runs from Serangan via Padang Bai to Gili Trawangan, Gili Air, Bangsal (Lombok), Penida and back to Serangan.

The flagship BlueWater Express XIV entered service in July 2024. This 26-metre high-speed passenger vessel carries 84 passengers and 9 crew. Its lightweight carbon-fibre construction gives it added strength. The boats cruise comfortably at 22-24 knots, with a top speed of 30 knots.

The vessels offer spacious cabins, sun decks, air-conditioned interiors, TVs and drinks service. They are fully equipped with SOLAS-compliant life jackets, life rafts, distress flares, GPS, AIS, EPIRB and VHF radio. The company holds a 100 percent safety record and has won the Bali Best Brand Award, TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence and the Pacto Tours Top Supplier Silver Award.
