Boonsiri High Speed Ferries was founded in 2011 and began operations on 15 November 2013. The company runs high-speed catamaran services in the Trat region to the islands of Koh Kood, Koh Chang and Koh Mak, as well as air-conditioned bus connections.
Boonsiri operates high-speed catamarans between the Thai mainland and the tropical holiday islands of Koh Mak and Koh Kood. Ferries depart from Laem Sok terminal in Trat and sail to Ao Salad Pier on Koh Kood and Ao Nid Pier on Koh Mak. Since 2023 there has also been a year-round daily inter-island service between Koh Chang, Koh Mak and Koh Kood. The route also extends to Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand.
The fleet includes the Boonsiri Fantasea, with state-of-the-art computer-controlled stabiliser aluminium catamaran construction for up to 200 passengers across two decks. In good weather it cruises at 25 knots. The newer Haad Thanam holds 288 passengers across three decks, including a VIP room for 30 passengers and an open upper deck for 56. On board there is air conditioning, tinted windows, adjustable seating, a small shop, large-screen TVs and free Wi-Fi.
Since 1 October 2023, Boonsiri has offered a combined boat/bus/boat service from Koh Chang to the Cambodian border at Hat Lek and onward to the popular Cambodian island of Koh Rong. Passengers leave Koh Chang at 9:00am, reach the Cambodian border around 1:00pm, and arrive at Koh Rong around 5:00pm.
