Consorzio Vidali Group is a consortium of companies in the tourism sector of the Venetian Lagoon, founded in 2016. The company offers tours and excursions to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello, as well as scenic transfers between Venice and the surrounding islands.
The boats of Consorzio Vidali Group operate year-round, offering various connections between Venice and the famous islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello in the Venetian Lagoon. Departures run from San Marco (Cornoldi) to the lagoon islands and to Piazzale Roma. The Approdi Cornoldi departure pier is just a few minutes' walk from St Mark's Square, and the crossing to the islands takes about 20 minutes.
The modern fleet can carry more than 1,000 passengers a day. Connections between Murano-Burano and Torcello-Murano take about 30 minutes, while the shortest crossing, between Torcello and Burano, takes just 10 minutes. The distance between Murano and Torcello is 3.6 nautical miles (about 6.7 km). Ferry tickets within the Venetian Lagoon start at 7.50 euros.
A multilingual audio guide with information and facts about the history of Venice is available on board the ferries. The motorboats are accessible for people with disabilities, prams and pets (which travel free without a ticket). In summer, an additional service runs from San Giuliano to Lido San Nicolò for beachgoers.
