Dolphin Fast Ferry was founded in May 2018 and specialises in fast passenger services across the Strait of Singapore.
Its operating area spans two countries: the Indonesian island of Batam in the Riau Archipelago, and the opposite coast of the Malaysian state of Johor. The company thus serves one of South-East Asia's busiest border crossings, used by commuters, weekend travellers and international visitors alike.
Services run on modern speedboats for foot passengers; there is no vehicle deck. The cabins are air-conditioned and fitted with padded seats. Depending on the connection, a crossing takes between just under two and two and a half hours, with several daily sailings in each direction.
