Medmar is a private Italian ferry company that has been handling the maritime transport of people and goods between Naples, Pozzuoli, Ischia and Procida for more than 50 years. The company was founded in 1969 and operates a fleet of 7 ferries and 2 further vessels.
The main routes connect Naples and Pozzuoli with the islands of Ischia and Procida in the Gulf of Naples. The crossing from Naples to Ischia takes about 1 hour 30 minutes, while the trip from Pozzuoli to Procida takes about 40 minutes. All routes run year-round, with increased frequency in summer.
The fleet includes spacious ships such as the Giulia D'Abundo and Maria Buono, fitted with lounges, restaurants and sun decks. Medmar offers various ticket types for foot passengers, cars and cabins.
Tickets start at around 6 euros and can be bought online or at Medmar counters in Naples (Porto di Massa), Pozzuoli, Casamicciola and Ischia (Porto). One item of luggage up to 20 kg (max. 60×40×30 cm) is free per person. Pets are allowed on selected routes and must be kept on a lead or in a carrier.
