Molslinjen (formerly Mols-Linien) was founded by DFDS in 1964 and began operating on 18 May 1966. The company is today Denmark's largest domestic ferry operator, connecting Jutland with Zealand and Bornholm with the mainland. In 2018, the acquisition of Danske Færger brought the brands Alslinjen, Langelandslinjen, Samsølinjen and Fanølinjen into the group.

Its main routes run from Odden on Zealand to Ebeltoft (since 1966) and Aarhus (since 1999) in Jutland. The fast ferry on the Odden-Aarhus route takes just 1 hour 20 minutes. Three of the world's largest super-ferries connect Zealand directly with Aarhus, with departures roughly every hour. In January 2023, Molslinjen also acquired ForSea Ferries.

The fleet comprises 18 ships operating on 10 different routes. The company is investing in sustainable technology and in 2025 ordered three battery-powered Incat catamarans for the Kattegat route, due in 2028.

The company's history has seen several changes of ownership: after the 1973 oil crisis, Mols-Linien merged with Grenaa-Hundested Linien, was sold to J. Lauritzen A/S in 1984 and later to DIFKO. In 1999 the company merged with Scandlines subsidiary Cat-Link, and in 2008 the Clipper Group acquired its shares.
