Reederei Cassen Eils was founded on 15 June 1952 by Captain Cassen Eils and his partner Ludwig Visser and remains based in Cuxhaven to this day. Since September 2010 it has belonged to Reederei AG Ems but continues to operate as its own brand.
It sails in the German Bight, from Cuxhaven and other ports on the North Sea coast. In our directory we list its line from Cuxhaven to the island of Neuwerk. It runs from April to October with the Flipper, a seaside excursion ship from 1977 with room for 499 passengers, departing from Alte Liebe in Cuxhaven. The schedule follows the tide: departure times change from day to day, and individual crossings can take longer than the usual two hours.
