Ferries run from B Shed Terminal at Victoria Quay, Fremantle, and from Barrack Street Jetty in Perth, to Rottnest Island. The crossing from Fremantle takes around 30 minutes, while the scenic journey from Perth along the Swan River takes about 90 minutes. The first ferry leaves the mainland at 7am.

The fleet includes the vessels "Quokka 1", "Quokka 2" and "Quokka 3", named after the island's famous quokkas. All vessels offer air-conditioned cabins, onboard WiFi, café and bar facilities, and a spacious outdoor deck.
