Songserm is Thailand's first and oldest ferry company, carrying passengers across the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. The company pioneered ferry services between mainland Chumphon province and the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao.

The ferry services run between Chumphon and Surat Thani on the mainland and the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand. In the Andaman Sea, Songserm ferries also connect Koh Phi Phi with Phuket, Krabi and other destinations. The crossing from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan (22 km) takes about 20 minutes, to Koh Tao (65 km) about 1 hour 30 minutes, and from Koh Tao to Koh Phangan (45 km) about 50 minutes.

From Bangkok, combination tickets are available that include an overnight bus journey from the Songserm Khao San Road office to the port, followed by the ferry crossing. This makes Songserm a popular choice for travellers heading to the islands from the capital.

Fares are affordable: a return trip from Koh Samui to Koh Tao costs around USD 24 for adults, while the Koh Samui-Koh Phangan route starts from THB 200. Bookings can be made via the official website songserm.com or platforms such as 12go.asia.
