Ultramar offers passenger ferry services to the islands of Cozumel and Isla Mujeres on Mexico's Caribbean coast. With continuous departures to Cozumel from Playa del Carmen and to Isla Mujeres from downtown Cancún and the hotel zone, Ultramar is Mexico's largest passenger ferry operator.
The ferry connections run from three departure points in Cancún: Terminal Marítima Ultramar (Puerto Juárez), Playa Tortugas (km 6.5, hotel zone) and Playa Caracol (km 9.5, hotel zone) to Isla Mujeres (27 km, 30 minutes). From Playa del Carmen to Cozumel (18 km) there are up to 18 daily departures, hourly with the most modern fleet.
The ticket is valid for six months from the date of purchase, for any available day and time on the route. One piece of luggage up to 25 kg is included (max. dimensions: 142 cm total). Children over 1.20 m pay the adult fare, and those under 1 year travel free (boarding pass required). Residents of Quintana Roo receive special rates with a valid ID.
