The ferry port of Agia Marina is on the east coast of Leros in the South Aegean. From here you can reach 5 destinations, among them Agathonisi, Arki and Lipsi. Together the services add up to as many as 10 departures a day. Crossings take between 45 minutes and 4.75 hours. The port is served by SAOS Ferries.

Getting there and the terminal

Leros has two ferry ports, and they lie at opposite ends of the island. Agia Marina is the smaller of the two. It belongs to the island's largest village and administrative seat on the east coast, just below the hillside village of Platanos, and is used above all by the fast catamarans, among them those of Dodekanisos Seaways and the Leros Express.

The main ferry port is Lakki in the south-west. Its deep natural basin was developed in the 1930s by the Italian administration into a naval base and a planned town; the large conventional ferries dock there.

For you that means one thing above all: check which port name is on your ticket before you set off. Half the island lies between Agia Marina and Lakki, and if you wait at the wrong quay you will not see your ship.
