Town port
- Location
- Skala, Regionalbezirk Inseln, Region Attika
The Agistri Myli ferry port is on Agistri in the Saronic Gulf off Athens. From here you can reach Aegina in 15 minutes and Piraeus in an hour. Together the connections add up to as many as 20 departures a day. The port is served by Hellenic Seaways.
Getting there and the terminal
Myli is the port of Megalochori, also known on the island as Mylos: a natural harbour on the north coast where the Flying Dolphins from Piraeus dock. This matters, because Agistri has two landing points. The second, Skala, lies 2 kilometres away on the north-east coast, and that's where the conventional ferries from Piraeus and Aegina berth. Which of the two your boat calls at depends on the vessel type and is shown on your ticket.
An island bus runs between the two places. It starts daily in Skala outside the Church of the Holy Anargyroi and serves Megalochori, Limenaria and the bathing coves of Dragonera and Aponissos. A coastal road along the water connects the two harbours, and if you'd rather walk, the 2 kilometres are manageable on foot.
Check-in
Under Hellenic Seaways' conditions of carriage for the Saronic Islands, you need to be in the embarkation area an hour before departure, whether on foot or with a vehicle. That's generous for the short crossings to Aegina and Piraeus, though not excessive in high season.
