Alexandroupolis ferry port lies in the regional unit of Evros in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, not far from the Turkish border, and is the point of departure for Samothrace. The island is served with up to four departures a day, in a good 1.75 hours. Beyond that there are Limnos in five hours and Agios Efstratios, which is called at on just over one day a week and, at 6.5 hours, is the longest sailing from here. Together the services run up to 8 departures a day. Samothrace is served daily, Limnos on around three days a week. The port is served by Cyclades Fast Ferries. Port operations are the responsibility of the port company Organismos Limenos Alexandroupolis.
Check-in
Zante Ferries, which runs the route to Samothrace and Limnos with the Ionis, issues the tickets at the desk in the port and requires you to collect them no later than an hour before the scheduled departure. If you are taking a vehicle you should be there earlier still, as loading starts before the ship sails.
