The ferry port of Alonissos is at Patitiri, the island's main harbour in the Northern Sporades. It sits in the group's dense inter-island traffic: Skopelos is 15 minutes away, Glossa at its northern tip one hour, Skiathos with its airport 1.5 hours. You reach the mainland via Mantoudi on Evia in 1.75 hours, via Volos in 3 hours or directly to Thessaloniki in 4.25 hours. Together the services add up to as many as 41 departures a day, and crossings take between 15 minutes and 4.25 hours. The port is served by Aegean Flying Dolphins and SeaJets.
That leaves the island unusually well tied into the network: Skiathos, Skopelos and Volos are served seven days a week, Skiathos with up to twelve and Skopelos with up to nine departures a day. Only Mantoudi and Thessaloniki thin out, served on two to three days and on around one day a week respectively.
Getting there and the terminal
All ferries and hydrofoils tie up at Patitiri. The village is also the island's administrative seat: the Dimotiko Limeniko Tameio, which runs and maintains the port, has its office on the first floor of Patitiri town hall.
