Ferries to Amalfi

Amalfi ferry port is in Campania on the Gulf of Salerno and is the hub of boat traffic along the Amalfitana. From here you can reach 17 destinations, among them Positano, Salerno and Sorrento, plus the neighbouring towns of Maiori, Minori, Cetara and Vietri sul Mare as well as Capri, Naples and Ischia. Together the services add up to as many as 293 departures a day, and crossings take between 15 minutes and 3 hours. The port is served by 12 operators, among them Alicost, Alilauro Gruson and Capitan Morgan.

Getting there and the terminal

The operators' ticket desks are at the port and within walking distance of it. Alicost sells at the port at Via Lungomare dei Cavalieri 74 and has an office at Salita Sopramuro 2; Travelmar is at Largo Duchi Piccolomini 8. Tickets for the same day are sold at the desks from 30 minutes before departure, otherwise online. If you come by car, expect restrictions: the old town is a Zona a Traffico Limitato, and the Luna Rossa complex intended as a car park has hard limits of its own. The chargeable, CCTV-monitored car park is cut into the rock and, under municipal rules, admits only vehicles under two metres high with electric, petrol or diesel engines; cars running on LPG or methane stay outside, and motorcycles park in their own bays and must enter and leave with the engine off. The municipality shows free spaces in real time through its InfoParking Amalfi system.
