Ancona, Ancona, Marken

The Ancona ferry port is in the Marche region on Italy's Adriatic coast and is one of the gateways to Greece, Croatia and Albania. From here you can reach 6 destinations, including Igoumenitsa, Durrës and Corfu, as well as Patras, Split and Zadar. Together the connections add up to as many as 14 departures a day, with crossings taking between 4 and 22.5 hours. 5 shipping companies call at the port, including Adria Ferries, Blue Star Ferries and Grimaldi Lines.

Getting there and the terminal

From the north, take the A14 to the Ancona Nord exit and continue on the SS16 towards Ancona and Porto. From the south, take the Ancona Sud exit and follow signs for Porto and Imbarchi. Check-in is at the Stazione Marittima, and this is the point many people underestimate: the check-in building is around 1.4 kilometres from the berths. A free shuttle, line 20, runs between the Biglietteria and Molo Santa Maria, where the ships dock. The main railway station is about two kilometres from the port; after arrival, line 10 takes you from Molo Santa Maria back to the station.

Check-in

Adria Ferries closes check-in strictly one hour before the scheduled departure, after which boarding is no longer possible. The company recommends being at the port three hours before departure: in high season, traffic backs up on the access roads and around the port grounds. You must in any case carry a valid travel document for the international crossing.
