Municipio 1, Bari, Bari, Apulien

Bari ferry port is in Apulia in Italy and is one of the major Adriatic crossings in the south. From here you can reach 7 destinations, among them Durres, Igoumenitsa and Dubrovnik. Together the services add up to as many as 20 departures a day. Crossings take between 8 and 16.5 hours, so they are all overnight passages. The port is served by 5 operators, among them Adria Ferries, Blue Star Ferries and Grandi Navi Veloci.

Getting there and the terminal

Access to the port is through the Varco della Vittoria at Lungomare Starita 6, north of the old town. By car, leave the A14 at the Bari Nord exit and follow the signs for "Porto - Terminal Crociere e Traghetti"; the coastal road SS16 gets you there as well. Bari Centrale station is around three kilometres away, city buses 20 and 50 run to the port, and by taxi it is 10 to 15 minutes. From Karol Wojtyła airport it is about 15 kilometres. The operators' desks are on the Colmata di Marisabella.

Check-in

Grandi Navi Veloci asks you to be at the terminal three hours before departure, with or without a vehicle; check-in closes 60 minutes before departure. Take that seriously: the route to Durres leaves the EU, so you need a valid travel document and time for border control.
