Batam Centre ferry port is on the Indonesian island of Batam south of Singapore and is one of the most intensively served ferry berths in South-East Asia. From here you can reach four destinations: HarbourFront Centre and Tanah Merah in Singapore in an hour each, plus Pasir Gudang and Stulang Laut in Malaysia. Together the services run up to 115 departures a day, and crossings take between an hour and 2.5 hours. The port is served by Batam Fast Ferry, Dolphin Fast Ferry, Majestic Fast Ferry and Sindo Ferry.
Check-in
Batam Centre is an international berth with border control, so check-in is stricter than at an island ferry. Majestic Fast Ferry closes its desks 30 minutes before departure. The gate to the exit control also closes 30 minutes beforehand; anyone not through by then does not board and loses the ticket. If names or details in the booking still need correcting, be at the desk at least 40 minutes before departure. So allow for the border check on top of these deadlines, not within them.
