Bawean's ferry port lies in Sangkapura on the south coast of the island, which belongs to Gresik Regency in the province of East Java. From here the only service in the timetable runs back to Gresik on Java. Up to 2 departures a day are listed, and the crossing takes around 3 hours. The route is served by Express Bahari.
Getting there and the terminal
Sangkapura is Bawean's main town and lies on the densely populated south coast; more than half of the island's inhabitants live here. Supplies and shipping traffic accordingly run through this port, and the island's roads lead towards it. The line to Gresik is Bawean's busiest service and ties the island to the north coast of East Java and to Madura.
