The ferry port of Bonifacio is at the southern tip of Corsica. From here you can reach Santa Teresa di Gallura on Sardinia, straight across the Strait of Bonifacio. There are up to 14 sailings a day. The crossing takes around 45 minutes. The port is served by Ichnusa Lines and Moby Lines.
Getting there and the terminal
The gare maritime is on Quai Sotta Portigliola below the citadel, at the end of the marina. Both operators have desks in the building, and you can also get information there about buses and transfers. Reception is open from April to September between 7am and 8.30pm, and from October to March between 7am and 5pm.
By car you first follow the climb towards the citadel and then the signs back down to the commercial harbour. From the bus station it is 10 to 15 minutes on foot.
Check-in
Moby Lines staggers its deadlines by season. From 1 June to 30 September foot passengers must be checked in 60 minutes before departure; from 1 October to 31 May 30 minutes is enough. With a vehicle two hours apply all year round. The operator points out explicitly that outside these times it does not guarantee carriage.
