Long Wharf North, 66 Long Wharf, neben dem Christopher Columbus Park

Boston ferry port is in the United States. From here you can reach 4 destinations: Salem and Provincetown on the coast of Massachusetts, and Georges Island and Spectacle Island in Boston Harbor. Together the services run up to 26 departures a day, and crossings take between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours. The port is served by Boston Harbor City Cruises.

Getting there and the terminal

The departure point is Long Wharf, a pier in the middle of the city centre. The boats to the harbour islands leave from Long Wharf North, number 66, directly next to Christopher Columbus Park; the fast ferry to Provincetown also starts at Long Wharf. The subway takes you there easily: the Blue Line stops at Aquarium station, the Orange Line at State or Haymarket, the Green Line at Haymarket. You do not need a car for this, and parking in this corner of the city is expensive and scarce.

Check-in

For the ferries to Georges Island and Spectacle Island you should be at Long Wharf North at least 20 minutes before departure. The rule is stricter for the Provincetown ferry: here the operator City Cruises states 30 minutes before the scheduled departure. For the sailings to Provincetown it is also worth booking in advance, because they regularly sell out at weekends and on public holidays.
