- Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, Chungjang-daero 206, Dong-gu
The ferry port of Busan is in South Korea and is the starting point for the routes to Japan. From here you can reach Hakata, Osaka and Shimonoseki. Together the routes run up to 6 departures a day, and crossings take between 6 and 17 hours. The port is served by Camellia Line, Panstar Cruise and Pukwan Ferry.
Getting there and the terminal
The international ferries leave from the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal at Chungjang-daero 206 in the Dong-gu district. Camellia Line gives two walking routes there: around ten minutes from Busan station, and around ten minutes from Choryang station as well.
The building is sorted by level, and that helps you find your way. Level 1 holds the car park, level 2 is where buses and taxis stop and where border control, the tourist information desk, a bank and shops are. The operators' check-in desks are a floor higher on level 3, together with customs and duty-free.
Check-in
The strictest requirement comes from Panstar Cruise for the Osaka ferry: you should be at the terminal two hours before departure and have your ticket issued at the desk on level 3. According to the operator's timetable the processing window ends 30 to 45 minutes before departure. Anyone bringing a vehicle has to be there even earlier: vehicle processing ends two and a half to three hours before the ship leaves, depending on the day of departure. Keep your passport handy in your hand luggage on all lines; exit control takes place in the terminal.
