The ferry port of Capri is at Marina Grande on the north coast of the island in the Bay of Naples. From here you can reach 17 destinations, among them Sorrento, Naples and Positano. Together the services add up to as many as 235 departures a day, one of the densest frequencies anywhere in the Mediterranean. Crossings take between 15 minutes and 2.25 hours: Sorrento is a quarter of an hour away, Naples three quarters of an hour, and the runs along the Amalfi Coast as far as Vietri sul Mare take the longest. The port is served by 13 operators, among them Alicost, Alilauro and Alilauro Gruson.

Getting there and the terminal

Marina Grande is the harbour for scheduled services; ferries and hydrofoils tie up at the main mole. Caremar describes the berth as reachable via the island's road network and only a few hundred metres from the central bus stop and the funicular station. At the port you will find ticket desks, a bar, a cash machine, a taxi rank, a waiting hall and a newspaper and souvenir stand.

Check-in

In its conditions of carriage for the Bay of Naples, SNAV requires you to collect your boarding pass at the desk no later than 30 minutes before the departure time shown on your ticket. You cannot take a vehicle on any of the services listed here; you board as a foot passenger.
