- Port Denarau Terminal (Festlandsseite), Schalter South Sea Cruises
Castaway Island ferry port is in Fiji. From here you can reach Denarau on the main island. The timetable lists up to 6 departures a day and the crossing takes around 1.25 hours. The route is operated by South Sea Cruises.
Getting there and the terminal
The counterpart on the main island is the Port Denarau Terminal. South Sea Cruises keeps a desk of its own there, where all resort transfers are handled, and from there the air-conditioned catamarans set out into the islands.
The island has no ferry berth in the usual sense. Most resorts in this group cannot be called at directly, so the operator puts its guests ashore from the catamaran in small tenders. By the operator's own account, getting your feet wet cannot always be avoided. So pack your camera and anything else delicate in a way that survives the last few metres dry, and wear shoes that can take salt water.
Check-in
At the South Sea Cruises desk in the Port Denarau Terminal you have to be checked in 30 minutes before the vessel departs. This deadline applies to all resort transfers, not only to Castaway Island.
