Inter-Island Ferry Terminal, Port Castries (SLASPA)

Castries is the capital of St Lucia and the island's ferry port. From here you can reach Fort de France on Martinique, Roseau on Dominica and Pointe a Pitre on Guadeloupe. Together the services add up to as many as 6 departures a day, and the crossings take between 1.5 and 7.25 hours. The port is served by L’Express Des Iles.

Getting there and the terminal

For the inter-island services, the state-run Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority has built a dedicated inter-island terminal at the port of Castries. It is designed for around 350 people and has an arrivals hall with fixed positions for immigration, customs, baggage reclaim and inspection. The departures area has a restaurant and bar, plus bank counters, a taxi rank, office space for the agencies and marked parking areas. The terminal is therefore built for travellers crossing a border, not for purely local island traffic.

Check-in

L’Express Des Iles, which trades under the FRS Express des Îles brand, asks passengers on international services to be at the counter at least two hours before departure. Check-in closes around 45 minutes and boarding around 30 minutes before departure. You need to bring a valid passport or identity card as well as your return or onward ticket. A departure tax is also payable locally before boarding, and it is not included in the ticket.
