Location
Cavo, Livorno, Toskana

Cavo ferry port lies on the north-eastern tip of Elba, the point closest to the Tuscan mainland. From here you can reach Piombino on the mainland and Portoferraio, the island's main town. Together the services run up to 18 departures a day, and the crossing takes around 15 minutes. The port is served by Toremar.

Getting there and the terminal

The berth is in the middle of the village on the seafront road, Lungomare Michelangelo 54. Toremar's desk is there too, where you can buy tickets and ask about the timetable. Cavo being a small seaside resort, distances are short: the village centre is within sight of the berth.

Check-in

Toremar requires you to be at the port at least 30 minutes before departure, without exception. Check-in is electronic, on the apron in front of the ship, so there is no terminal building to find. All travellers, children included, need a valid original identity document. Knives, spearguns and similar equipment are not allowed on board.
