The ferry port of Ċirkewwa is at the northern tip of Malta. From here you can reach Comino. There are up to 24 sailings a day. The crossing takes around 15 minutes. The port is served by Comino Ferries.
Getting there and the terminal
Ċirkewwa is not a village but a headland with a harbour: the nearest settlement is Mellieħa, a few kilometres south. That is exactly why the bus here is not a fallback but the normal way to arrive. At the Ċirkewwa bus terminal, the transport hub for the whole north of the island, routes 41 and 42 from Valletta terminate, along with the 101 from Mġarr and the 221 and 222 from Buġibba and Sliema; there are also the X299 and X300 express buses and the TD1 airport route. Malta Public Transport lists real-time displays, drinks and snack machines and staff on site for the terminal; the public toilets are run by Gozo Channel.
According to Comino Ferries, the boats to Comino and the Blue Lagoon leave both from Ċirkewwa and from neighbouring Marfa. These are two different points on the same headland: your ticket says which one your boat leaves from. The operator gives no fixed check-in window for Ċirkewwa.
