The ferry port of Corfu is in the Mantouki district near the old town and is the hub of the Ionian Islands. From here you can reach 9 destinations. The most frequent sailings go to Igoumenitsa on the mainland (1.5 hours, up to 49 departures a day) and to Paxi (1.25 hours). Overnight, ferries call at the Italian ports of Brindisi, Bari, Ancona and Venice, and there are also the small neighbouring islands of Ereikoussa, Mathraki and Othoni. Together the services add up to as many as 82 departures a day, and crossings take between 1.25 and 25.25 hours. The port is served by 7 operators, among them Blue Star Ferries, Grimaldi Lines and Joy Cruises.
Getting there and the terminal
The New Port is within walking distance of the town: the port administration gives 1,600 metres from the terminal to the old town, and it is around 3 kilometres to the airport. The coast road passes right by the port entrance; Grimaldi Lines gives Ethnikis Antistaseos 4 as the address of its port office. In the terminal you will find a tourist information desk, a taxi desk, a car hire stand and wi-fi, and a free shuttle bus runs between the building and the berth.
Check-in
For the Italian routes, Grimaldi Lines requires you to report to the desk in the ferry terminal no later than two hours before departure, with or without a vehicle. That is the strictest requirement here. For the short crossings to Igoumenitsa and Paxi, the deadline of the operator concerned applies and is shown on the ticket.
