Cozumel ferry port lies on the Caribbean island of Cozumel off the coast of Mexico. From here you can reach Playa del Carmen on the mainland. A ferry leaves up to 15 times a day. The crossing takes around an hour. The port is served by Ultramar.
Getting there and the terminal
The passenger ferries berth at the Terminal Marítima San Miguel on the Avenida Rafael Melgar, the seafront road of the island's main town of San Miguel. This service does not take cars. Vehicles go on the freight ferry, which on Cozumel uses the Terminal Félix González Canto, also on the Avenida Rafael Melgar, and on the mainland calls not at Playa del Carmen but at Punta Venado near Calica, at kilometre 72 of the Cancún - Tulum road. For the vehicle ferry you have to book at least 24 hours in advance.
Check-in
Ultramar asks you to be at the terminal 40 minutes before the scheduled departure. One item of luggage up to 25 kilograms is included in the ticket; its length, width and height added together must not exceed 142 centimetres.
