The ferry port of Daydream Island lies on the island of the same name in the Whitsundays in Australia. From here you can reach 4 destinations, among them Airlie Beach, Hamilton Island Marina and Hamilton Island Airport. Together the routes add up to as many as 43 departures a day. Crossings take between 15 and 45 minutes. The port is served by Cruise Whitsundays.
Getting there and the terminal
Daydream Island is part of Cruise Whitsundays' Resort Connections, a fixed circuit between Port of Airlie, Hamilton Island Marina, Hamilton Island Airport, Shute Harbour and the island; bus links run to Whitsunday Coast Airport. From the mainland, Port of Airlie is the usual starting point; the terminal is at 24 The Cove Road in Airlie Beach and is within walking distance of most of the town's accommodation.
If you are arriving by car, sort out parking beforehand: spaces at the terminal are limited. Cruise Whitsundays points to its own pick-up service, which needs twelve hours' notice, and to private valet operators in town.
Check-in
Cruise Whitsundays asks Resort Connections passengers to be at the terminal 30 minutes before departure. Checked baggage must be checked in no later than 15 minutes before departure, and one large and one small item per person is allowed. Final boarding is five minutes before departure, after which the gangways are pulled in. If you have only an e-ticket or a QR code and no checked baggage, you can skip the counter and go straight to the boarding gate.
