The ferry port of Dielette is on the west coast of the Cotentin in Normandy, in the lee of the Flamanville headland. From here you can reach the Channel Islands of Alderney and Guernsey. Together the routes run up to 4 departures a day. Crossings take between an hour and 1.25 hours. The port is served by Manche Iles Express.

Getting there and the terminal

The harbour spreads across the communes of Flamanville and Tréauville; alongside the marina, the commercial quay and the fishing pontoons there is a separate berth for the Channel Island boats. According to the operator you can park free of charge in front of the ferry terminal, as you can in Granville and Carteret. That is no side issue here: Manche Iles Express runs passenger-only vessels and carries no vehicles. Your car therefore stays behind in Dielette while you cross to the island.

Check-in

Manche Iles Express requires you to be at the desk to check in at least 90 minutes before departure. Anyone turning up at check-in less than 40 minutes before departure will not be allowed on board, even with a valid ticket. That is not a matter of goodwill but the operator's fixed rule, and it applies equally at all three French departure ports.
