Dieppe ferry port lies in Normandy on the English Channel and is the easternmost French link to southern England. From here you can reach Newhaven: a ferry leaves up to 6 times a day and the crossing takes around 4 hours. The port is served by DFDS.

Getting there and the terminal

The Gare maritime stands at 7 Quai Gaston Lalitte, 76200 Dieppe, in the eastern part of the harbour basin. It is 2 kilometres from Dieppe station, around 28 minutes on foot; from the town centre you walk 20 to 30 minutes. There is a car park in front of the terminal, free of charge for short stays. Inside the building you will find toilets, wi-fi and vending machines, but no café and no lockers.

Check-in

DFDS closes check-in 45 minutes before the scheduled departure, and it closes on time. In high season the operator advises allowing another 90 minutes for checks and formalities. With a vehicle you drive to the check-in booth first, keep your ID and booking confirmation ready and then pass through security. Foot passengers report at the passenger terminal and are taken to the ship by shuttle bus once the checks are done; anyone travelling with a pet must have reserved a kennel beforehand.
