Donoussa ferry port is on the easternmost island of the Small Cyclades in Greece, around 16 kilometres east of Naxos and about 25 kilometres north of Amorgos. From here you can reach 9 destinations, among them Aegiali, Astypalea and Iraklia. Together the services add up to as many as 18 departures a day. Crossings take between 1.25 and 6.75 hours. The port is served by Blue Star Ferries and Small Cyclades Lines.
Getting there and the terminal
On Donoussa the port and the main village are one and the same: the berth is at Stavros, also called Agios Stavros, the island's only settlement of any size. Arrive here and you are standing in the middle of the village, not at a remote ferry terminal. The island had around 213 inhabitants in 2021, spread across Stavros and the smaller hamlets of Mersini, Charavgi and Kalotaritissa. A surfaced road links the port with Kalotaritissa in the north; distances are so short that most places stay within walking distance.
Check-in
For services within Greece, Blue Star Ferries requires you to be in the boarding area no later than one hour before departure, on foot or with a vehicle. Tickets are not issued on board, so you need yours beforehand, along with a valid identity document. At a berth of this size that simply means standing on the mole in good time: the ships stop only briefly.
