Willaston, Douglas, Middle

The ferry port of Douglas is the Isle of Man's gateway to the mainland. From here you can reach Heysham in 3.75 hours and Liverpool in 2.75 hours, plus Larne in Northern Ireland and Dublin in Ireland. Together the routes run up to 12 departures a day, and crossings take between 2.75 and 5.25 hours. The port is served by the Steam Packet Company, the only operator calling here on a scheduled service.

Getting there and the terminal

The address is Sea Terminal, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM1 2RF. It is around 400 metres to the town centre, and the same distance to the bus station on Lord Street; there is a taxi rank right by the main entrance. The terminal itself has short-stay parking with a parking disc, limited to one hour. For longer stays use the Parade Street East car park, which is open around the clock, or the Bottleneck Car Park with automatic number-plate recognition, which stays closed during the TT races.

Check-in

Check-in usually opens an hour and a half before departure. Foot passengers report to the passenger terminal, where the last check-in is 25 minutes before departure. If you are bringing a vehicle, you drive to the booths at the entrance to the secure area immediately in front of the building; here check-in closes 45 minutes before departure. The Steam Packet Company gives both deadlines for Douglas.
