The Eckerö ferry port is in the westernmost municipality of the Åland Islands, on the edge of Storby. From here you can reach Grisslehamn on the Swedish mainland: a ferry departs up to 6 times a day, and the crossing over the Åland Sea takes around 2 hours. The port is served by Eckerö Linjen.

Getting there and the terminal

The landing point is called Berghamn and lies on Eckerövägen, AX-22270 Eckerö. A public bus service timed to all departures and arrivals runs between Berghamn and the bus station in Mariehamn; you can buy the ticket together with your crossing, as it's not included in the ferry fare.

Check-in

Eckerö Linjen requires all passengers and vehicles to be checked in at least 30 minutes before departure, or 45 minutes from June to August. Check-in closes ten minutes before departure. Cars, motorcycles and bicycles are processed at the vehicle check-in on the port grounds. Foot passengers collect their boarding pass from the machines in the terminal; in Berghamn these open an hour before departure, and groups report to the staffed information desk. Anyone who has booked priority boarding for their car must be checked in 45 minutes before departure, or priority is forfeited.
