- Haupthafen im Barangay Buena Suerte (Philippine Ports Authority)
El Nido ferry port lies in the north of the Philippine island of Palawan, around 269 kilometres north-east of the provincial capital Puerto Princesa and about 420 kilometres south-west of Manila. From here you can reach the port of Palawan on Busuanga. A ferry leaves up to 2 times a day. The crossing takes around 3.5 hours. The port is served by Jomalia Shipping.
Getting there and the terminal
El Nido's main port lies in Barangay Buena Suerte, one of the four barangays that make up the town centre. It comes under the state-run Philippine Ports Authority. Elsewhere in the municipality there are several smaller berths as well, such as the San Fernando Pier in one of the rural barangays. It is therefore worth a look at your ticket: El Nido covers a large area and is divided into 18 barangays, and not every jetty is near the town centre.
There are three ways of getting to El Nido. The local airport, officially El Nido Airport and commonly called Lio Airport, is the municipality's only one. By road, a 60-kilometre national highway links El Nido with Taytay; from Puerto Princesa there are daily buses from the San Jose terminal. And finally there are shipping links as far north as Manila.
