Fethiye

Town port

Location
Karagözler, Fethiye, Muğla

Fethiye ferry port lies in Muğla Province on Turkey's south-west coast, with the berth in the Karagözler district. From here the scheduled service runs across to Rhodes: up to 5 departures a day, a crossing of around 1.5 hours, operated by Ido and Makri Travel.

Getting there and the terminal

The port is run by the municipal company Muttaş. The address is Karagözler Mahallesi, Fevzi Çakmak Caddesi No. 9; the facility includes a 195-metre jetty and a 264-metre quay area. Fethiye is a sea border crossing through which, according to the operator, around 100,000 travellers enter and leave each year. It is about 60 kilometres from Dalaman Airport, a good hour's drive. Karagözler is the terminus of several of the transport company's city bus routes, among them 3-26 to Taşyaka and 3-31 to Hıdırlık. For drivers, Muttaş runs two public car parks in Fethiye, at the Pazaryeri and at the intercity bus terminal.

Check-in

Makri Travel expects you at the office at least 60 minutes before departure, where your passport and visa are checked; check-in closes 30 minutes before departure. Because exit formalities are added at a border crossing, that hour is tight. At weekends and in the height of summer the operator recommends arriving considerably earlier.
