Anleger bei Kampung Pasir Hantu, Suedostecke Pulau Perhentian Kecil

The Fisherman Village jetty lies at the south-eastern corner of Pulau Perhentian Kecil in Malaysia. From here you can reach Kuala Besut Jetty on the mainland, with a boat leaving up to 30 times a day. The crossing takes around 30 minutes. The jetty is served by Perhentian Boat Services and Perhentian Sunny Travel.

Getting there and the terminal

Fisherman Village is called Kampung Pasir Hantu in Malay and is the only established settlement on the Perhentian Islands; everything else on Kecil and Besar consists of resorts and beach accommodation. Arriving here, then, you land not in a holiday bay but in the village. There are no roads and no cars on the islands: you continue on foot or take one of the water taxis that shuttle between the bays and to the neighbouring island of Perhentian Besar all day and into the late evening. You pay the marine park conservation fee before the crossing at the jetty in Kuala Besut; it is valid for three days, and you should keep the receipt for that time. From November to February the northeast monsoon brings heavy seas, and boat services largely stop.
