The ferry port of Fort Lauderdale is on the Atlantic coast of Florida in the United States. From here you can reach Bimini and Freeport in the Bahamas. Together the routes run up to 4 departures a day. Crossings take between 2 and 3 hours. The port is served by Balearia.

Getting there and the terminal

The departure point is Port Everglades, one of the big seaports of Florida, with the address 1850 Eller Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. Balearia Caribbean is one of the lines handling regular sailings there: alongside the multi-day cruises, the daily ferry service to the Bahamas leaves from here as well.

What is particularly convenient is the position relative to the airport. It is only 1.8 miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, around five to ten minutes by car. Taxis and limousine services serve the port. Cruise and ferry passengers are given fixed time slots at the terminal; the port asks expressly that you do not arrive earlier than your assigned check-in time, because queues build up in front of the terminals otherwise. The exact time is on your travel documents and is set by the operator, not by the port.
