Ports and terminals

Fremantle

Town port

Terminals
B Shed, Victoria Quay, 1 Peter Hughes Drive und Northport, 1 Emma Place, Rous Head Road, North Fremantle

The ferry port of Fremantle is at the mouth of the Swan River south of Perth in Western Australia. From here you can reach Rottnest Island in half an hour and Perth upriver in 1.25 hours. Together the routes run up to 16 departures a day. The port is served by Captain Cook Cruises, Rottnest Express and Sealink Rottnest.

Getting there and the terminal

Fremantle has two departure points, and mixing them up costs you the ferry. B Shed is on Victoria Quay, 1 Peter Hughes Drive, only a short walk from Fremantle station: the choice for anyone arriving by train or bus. Long-stay parking here is scarce and runs through Wilson Parking, and building work is currently under way, which restricts access and parking. Allow time to spare at this one.

The second berth, Northport, is in North Fremantle on Rous Head Road, 1 Emma Place. It has its own car park with almost 400 spaces, but Northport can only be reached by car. The sailings to Perth end at Barrack Street Jetty at Elizabeth Quay, where Elizabeth Quay station and the free Blue CAT bus route stop.

Check-in

Rottnest Express asks you to be at the terminal at least 30 minutes before departure, so that there is time for parking, luggage, bicycles and ticket collection. The last admission is 5 minutes before scheduled departure, after which the gangways are pulled in. If you have only hand luggage and an e-ticket, go straight to the boarding gate.
