Gili Air

Resort

Gili Air is the easternmost of the three Gili Islands off the north-west coast of Lombok and the one closest to Lombok itself. The hop across is correspondingly short: 15 minutes to Bangsal on Lombok, and the same to the neighbouring island of Gili Trawangan.

In all you can reach 8 destinations from here. Traffic towards Bali makes up the lion's share: Padang Bai in two hours, Nusa Penida in a good two, Nusa Lembongan in two and a half, Serangan and Sanur in a good three hours. Then there is Gili Gede in south-west Lombok, which is served on only a few days a week. If you are just shuttling between the Gili Islands and Lombok, on the other hand, you can travel every day. Together the services run up to 109 departures a day, and the longest trip takes 3.5 hours. 15 operators call at the island, among them Bali Eka Jaya, Bluewater Express and Dcamel Fast Ferry. With that many providers, the meeting point that counts is on your ticket, not at the port: note before you travel which operator is collecting you and where its desk on the island is.
