Anleger Gili Meno (kein Terminalgebäude, nur Hafenbüro)

The ferry port of Gili Meno is on the middle one of the three Gili Islands in Indonesia. From here you can reach 4 destinations, among them Padang Bai, Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. Together the services add up to as many as 20 departures a day. Crossings take between 2 and 3.75 hours. The port is served by Bali Eka Jaya, Gili Gili Fast Boat, Semaya One Fast Cruise and Wijaya Perkasa.

Getting there and the terminal

The fast boats use the island's berth, and many set their passengers down directly on the beach. There is no terminal building as there is in Bali, only a harbour office where an island fee is payable on arrival.

No car and no motorbike runs on Gili Meno. From the berth you carry on by foot, by hire bicycle or by cidomo, the horse-drawn cart; its fares are fixed, so you do not have to bargain. Crossing the island on foot takes a quarter of an hour.

Alongside the fast boats from Bali there are public boats from Bangsal harbour on the north-west coast of Lombok, and the local koperasi boats link the three Gili Islands with each other. The service from Lombok has no fixed departure times: the boats leave when they are full. If you are in a hurry, you charter or buy up the remaining seats. And one warning that is regularly ignored on these islands: swimming between the Gilis is life-threatening, because the currents are strong.
